The recycling operating process
A dedicated department handles each phase
British Gypsum has set up an effective process with the waste partners and with its customers in order to guarantee the quality of the recycled plasterboards.
An industrial innovation
The Plasterboard Recycling Service is a major innovation for an industry faced with escalating waste costs. Controlled by a dedicated department, it involves the delivery of empty plasterboard waste receptacles and collection of them when full. This would not be possible without dedicated waste partners.
The recycling process
The waste partners provide a delivery and collection service for the skips, wheelie bins and bags that are filled with waste plasterboard from the customers’ sites.
All the material taken back has to go through the waste partners processing facilities to ensure that a consistent high quality material is delivered back to British Gypsum in-house recycling facilities at East Leake and Robertsbridge, and then re-fed into the manufacturing process which guarantees the quality of our plasterboard is not compromised.
