FluoroLease® A plastic film
FluoroLease© A is a multilayer film encompassing an ultra-fine fluoropolymer FEP film on an elastomer backing. The result is high heat resistance and elasticity.
FluoroLease® A was developed for the aeronautical industry, which wanted cheaper films without losing FEP’s outstanding anti-adhesive properties.
The technology that Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics developed and patented combines a single ultra-fine outer layer of FEP and an elastomer substrate. That combination delivers high heat resistance – and stretch span. Future applications for multilayer plastic films include photovoltaic cells (films for dielectric insulation and heat dissipation), flexible printed circuits (anti-adhesive films), protective films (resistance to chemical products, abrasion, and UV rays, plus long-term protection from the elements), and high-temperature moulding of resin parts for the aeronautical industry (the film protects the mould while flawlessly following all its contours).
