The Building Distribution Sector was born of the acquisition in 1996 of Poliet Group subsidiaries, Point.P and Lapeyre.

Since its creation, the business has grown considerably through both organic and external expansion. The firm grip of the European market is the result of various acquisitions, including Jewson and Graham in the United Kingdom, Raab Karcher in Germany, the Netherlands and Eastern Europe, and more recently Dahl in Scandinavia (2004).
