SAINT-GOBAIN ACQUIRES DUBOIS MATERIAUX
Saint-Gobain's Building Distribution division announces the acquisition, by Point.P, of Dubois Matériaux (Kingfisher group).
Dubois Matériaux, merchant specialised in the distribution of timber, board and insulating materials, had a turnover of 246 million euros in 2002 and employs 795 people. Its network comprises 14 locations around France.
The acquisition of Dubois Matériaux fits in with the Point.P group’s growth strategy and comes to complete its offering on the « Timber-Board and Insulation » market.
The acquisition finalisation is subject to the prior consent of the French antitrust authorities.
Saint-Gobain’s Building Distribution division had a turnover of 11 billion euros in 2002 and employs over 48,000 people. Today, it is the leading distributor of building materials in Europe, with a network of 2,800 outlets located in 14 countries. Its main brands are Point.P, Lapeyre, La Plateforme du Bâtiment, Jewson and Raab Karcher. Point.P is the number one distributor of building materials in France. Its trading network comprises approximately 1400 sales outlets.
