STRATEGIC REVIEW OF THE SPECIALTY BOTTLES BUSINESS
The Saint-Gobain Group confirms that it is reviewing strategic options for its specialty bottles business (Saint-Gobain Desjonquères and subsidiaries).
The Group’s review - of which the Central Works Committee received today first notification -, is aimed at strengthening the leading position of this business on the worldwide specialty bottles market. It may result in one or more partnerships with industrial or financial investors.
Saint-Gobain Desjonquères and its subsidiaries are part of the Group’s Packaging sector, and develop, produce and sell glass specialty bottles for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and high-end perfume industries.
Desjonquères was acquired at the end of the 1960s and has since undergone rapid expansion within the Group, both in France and abroad. In 2005, the specialty bottles business delivered sales of around €550 million, with production sites in France, Germany, Spain, the US, Brazil, China and Russia, backed by a global sales network.
