Saint-Gobain Signs Up for the Fight to Combat Climate Change and Protect Water Resources
In January, Pierre-André de Chalendar, Saint Gobain's Chief Executive Officer, took the Group's endorsement of the UN Global Compact one step further by endorsing the Caring for Climate statement and the CEO Water Mandate.
Caring for Climate is an action platform to demonstrate leadership on the issue of climate change. The 318 corporations that have endorsed the Caring for Climate statement are committed to jointly setting goals and to publicly disclosing their greenhouse gas emissions.
The CEO Water Mandate supports the United Nations Millennium Development Goals of reducing poverty and improving environmental sustainability by 2015.
Pierre-André de Chalendar and 45 other CEOs have formally committed to making water-resources management a priority, and to working with governments, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to address the global water challenge.
