Saint-Gobain Building Distribution brands are helping develop new intelligent home systems.

In France, CEDEO has joined up with Nest, a company that specializes in home automation solutions. CEDEO launches and markets these elegant, intuitive and connected systems to industry professionals. 

The Nest thermostat has sensors that detect the presence of a person in the room. It can automatically adjust the temperature and so save energy. The temperature setting can also be controlled from a smartphone, tablet or computer.

As part of the partnership, CEDEO has introduced a comprehensive series of promotional measures to raise customer awareness of the products: outlet displays, customer mailings, product brochures, internal training and installer training sessions. 

CEDEO is already selling Nest’s first two products, Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Protect Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm, paving the way for it to be the home automation specialist. In this way, CEDEO is reasserting its commitment to assisting customers in the shift to these new markets based around security, energy management and energy efficiency.

In the United Kingdom, Jewson, Gibbs & Dandy and Graham also sell Nest’s solutions. They provide advice and training about how to use these systems for their professional customers and employees at the Greenworks Training Academy. This approach has earned them “approved installer” status.
