Bringing built environment supply chain partners along the net-zero journey

Building construction and materials account for 11% of the world’s carbon emissions. With the sector’s energy-intensive extraction practices, linear supply chains and fragmented operations, it is not easy to reduce this “embodied carbon”. We know that the built environment supply chain needs to be transformed into a value chain based on circular economy principles and greater collaboration between supply chain actors. The question is, how to achieve this in practice?

This event takes up the “How to?” for transforming the built environment supply chain, gathering players from all along the supply chain to explore:

  • How are major supply chain partners currently positioned to pursue net-zero targets?
  • What needs to happen for built environment supply chain actors across different geographies to join the race to net-zero?
  • Why are many sustainability leaders advocating a whole building life-cycle approach?
  • What is needed so that supply chain actors can adopt this approach at scale?
  • What does good net-zero supply chain collaboration look like in practice?
