FIFTH WEBER PLANT OPENED IN INDONESIA

In order to continue its growth strategy in high-growth regions, Saint-Gobain has just inaugurated a new Weber industrial site on Java.

This brand-new plant will manufacture plasters, ceramic tile adhesives and grouts. It is located in Semarang, Central Java. This island’s economy, infrastructure and urbanization have been growing at a fast pace for several years. This explains the strategic nature of this investment as no other mortar manufacturer has a plant in this region. With an annual production capacity of 170,000 metric tons, the plant will help improve the service provided to the various local customers and to defend Saint-Gobain’s leading position on Indonesia’s mortar market. Weber’s main strengths compared to its competitors are   the quality of its products, the broad range of services provided and its unparalleled geographic coverage with five sites across the archipelago.

The challenge now is to capitalize on Weber’s strength to help Gyproc win market share in Indonesia. Synergies between the two brands has already been established. For example, the sales and marketing, and even customer service teams have merged.

Saint-Gobain has eight sites in Indonesia: five Weber plants, one Gyproc plant, one Saint-Gobain Abrasives plant and one Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics plant.
