ECLAZ: source of light and well-being
In Europe, people spend 90 percent of their time indoors. Comfort and Well-Being are therefore becoming a real concern for everybody. However, even if today’s occupants are constantly seeking to improve their comfort, they do not want to compromise on energy efficiency. The new high-performance ECLAZ glazing claims to provide an answer to both these demands.

Did you know ?

The 2017 Nobel Prize for medicine was awarded for work on the human circadian rhythm, which confirmed the impact of natural light on our physiology (mood, memory, sleep, etc.).

SAINT-GOBAIN GLASS FROM A NEW PERSPECTIVE

ECLAZ allows occupants to enjoy more of the sun’s light. Scientific studies have demonstrated the central role of natural light on mood, productivity, and even quality of sleep. With an increased natural light gain of up to 10 percent, this new Saint-Gobain glazing undeniably improves quality of life.

WINTER’S ON ITS WAY. NO NEED TO WORRY. ON THE CONTRARY

Thanks to its transparency, ECLAZ allows a maximum amount of free solar heat gain while also ensuring optimum thermal insulation. This results in a savings of up to 20 percent on the energy bill while minimizing the cold wall sensation. This new glazing is ideally suited to both the residential and service sector markets in cold or temperate climates for windows and facades in new buildings or renovation projects.

ITS FUTURE LOOKS PARTICULARLY RADIANT

ECLAZ has ushered in a new standard that will drive the market towards lower-energy consuming buildings. Already certified by the Passive House Institute, ECLAZ pre-empts the requirements of future environmental regulations in Europe, such as the Réglementation Environnementale RE 2018 in France and Energieeinsparverordnung EnEV2020 in Germany.

STRATEGIC R&D PARTNERSHIPS ACHIEVE TECHNOLOGICAL BREAKTHROUGH

ECLAZ owes its unique performance to a technological breakthrough involving a high-power laser treatment of the low-emissivity coating deposited on the surface of the glass by cathode sputtering. The development and industrial application of this Saint-Gobain proprietary technology involved strategic partnerships with two German equipment manufacturers.
