Our plasters star at a music festival

For 14 years, the town of Clisson in France has hosted the largest “extreme” music festival in Europe. The particularity of this project lies in the creation of the interior design of the VIP building.

The interior depicts a skeleton, consisting of 3,600 backbones made out of staff (a plaster-fiber blend) with different sizes and shapes to fit the building’s curved structure.

To create the extremely detailed work, the company used 26 metric tons of MOLDA® 3 Normal plaster, designed by Placo®, for the molding of the decorative features and the sculpture. This solution solved a number of challenges, both in the preparation and fitting of the various items. The plaster’s smoothness made it easier to reproduce the meticulous detailing, while its resistance resulted in “zero breakages” at the end of the concert. The VIP building at the Hellfest Festival won the Special Jury and Press prizes at the 2019 Trophées Placo® awards.
