09/13/2019 Inspired by the tents used by Bedouin nomads, the Al Bayt stadium will host the next FIFA World Cup in 2022. Several Saint-Gobain materials have been selected for this huge project. Achievement Of the eight stadiums currently under construction in Qatar, Al Bayt is not the largest but it is certainly one of the most impressive. Peaking at 37 meters, the structure echoes the tents traditionally used by desert nomads. The Saint-Gobain solutions used for this building include COOL-LITE solar control glass, Weber mortars on the floors and to install tiles, as well as Kimmco-Isover glass wool to insulate the water pipe systems. Saint-Gobain PAM also supplied the drinking water pipes around this sports complex. A subtle blend of tradition and modernity, the Al Bayt stadium's architecture includes a retractable roof and modular and demountable structures. Almost 30,000 seats will be removed after the World Cup and donated to countries lacking sports facilities. ©the Supreme Committee/arch. : Dar Al Handasah.
