Saint-Gobain and the silver screen

In Los Angeles, California, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the world premier museum dedicated to movies and moviemaking, will soon open its doors under a glass dome made from Saint-Gobain Glass.

Designed by the architects Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the new movie museum in Los Angeles has restored the historic Saban Building—formerly a May Company department store—and has added a spherical structure attached by glass bridges.

An extraordinary glass dome has been added, providing a spectacular view of the Hollywood Hills. Saint-Gobain, with GLASSOLUTIONS ECKELT Austria , supplied more than 2,200 m² of laminated safety glass using heat-strengthened SGG Diamant for the construction of the dome.
