The fifth episode of the “I PHYZ GOOD” series about thermal comfort has been broadcasted on the String Theory YouTube scientific channel on March 2. The episode shows David Louapre, a research scientist in physics at Saint-Gobain,  explaining  the distinction between temperature and heat flux, and how the materials surrounding us determine our thermal comfort. It was filmed at the Videology film studio in Paris and at the Domolab, Saint-Gobain’s innovation center for sustainable habitat based in Aubervilliers situated on the outskirts of Paris.

The fourth episode of the “I PHYZ GOOD” series about natural light has been broadcasted on the String Theory YouTube scientific channel on January 12, 2017. The episode shows David Louapre, a research scientist in physics at Saint-Gobain, explaining the importance of natural light to humans and how technology enables us to control natural light and improve the comfort level within our habitats. It was filmed at the Paris School of Fine Arts and at the Domolab, Saint-Gobain’s innovation center for sustainable habitat based in Aubervilliers situated on the outskirts of Paris.

Pierre-André de Chalendar, Chief Executive Officer of the Saint-Gobain group, was awarded the “David Gottfried Global Green Building Award” at the World Green Building Council’s (WorldGBC) annual congress recently held in Stockholm, Sweden. Launched in 2011 and named in honour of the founder of the WorldGBC, this award is given to individuals whose contribution to the global green building movement has been shown to be unique, innovative and entrepreneurial.
