The Building Distribution Sector brands are constantly on the lookout for the best logistics solutions in order to provide their customers with high added value. The following are just a few examples of solutions implemented by the Sector’s brands to improve efficiency and product availability.
Brødrene Dahl Norway has invested heavily to expand and upgrade its logistics center in Langhus, which now has a covered surface area of 44,000 square meters. To improve efficiency and product availability, this logistics center, highly automated, can handle 23,000 stock references and process 13,000 separate order lines a day.
In 2015, Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark commissioned a new 100,000 cubic meter warehouse called “Logstar” in Randers (Denmark). The 20-meter high building has a footprint of 8,000 square meters and includes automated restocking. This logistics center will offer a high quality service to Brødrene Dahl and Optimera's customers.
CEDEO and Brossette, two Saint-Gobain Distribution Bâtiment France brands specializing in plumbing-heating-sanitaryware, rely on an efficient logistics system backed by a regional network of seven logistics centers across France. Also called STACs, or “Stocks Agences Clients” (customer outlet inventory), these centers provide customers with access to more than 20,000 products for immediate or next-day delivery for all orders placed before 5.00 pm. It means suppliers can tap into an unparalleled distribution network with 500 sales outlets across France.
