Vetrotech goes green

In Switzerland, the Vetrotech Romont plant now uses 100% renewable energy. Hydropower is the source of all the electricity the site needs. Each year, the plant consumes on average 3.6 MW.

This commitment will save more than 600 metric tons of CO₂ each year. In order to reduce the site’s environmental impact, management has also invested in a new machine that improves glass cutting and reduces waste offcuts by 20%. This initiative reflects Saint-Gobain’s environmental commitments, including the target of reducing its total CO2 emissions by 20% of the 2010 level by 2025.
