Assist you with BIM

While relying on the best features of previous models, BIM implies learning new operating methods, so that everyone can benefit from its full potential.

As part of this approach, which combines education and innovation, Saint-Gobain and its brands are launching BIM initiatives, and offering turnkey solutions, which can easily be adopted by all of users. The “BIM modelling” tools proposed few months ago are the first results of this approach.

Find out about a few of these initiatives below.

Projects that come to life virtually

Saint-Gobain is radically simplifying the construction process via immersion tools. These tools enable our users to view and simulate the performance of Saint-Gobain's products and systems, and so simplify their decisions at an early stage in projects. These results may be used by our partners and customers, in order to simplify communications with the projects’ end users.

Furthermore, these tools enable the completion of construction sites to be simplified. Thanks to assisted 3-D modelling of the construction site, it is actually possible to correct, quantify, and edit fitting documents at a very early stage. This means that the logistics procurement chain is anticipated from the outset of the project.

All of these services and tools are continually being enhanced in real time. Saint-Gobain is working continuously on optimising the software together with our customers, by relying on feedback, and the expectations expressed.

Get standardised data with Saint-Gobain BIM viewer services

Les Menuiseries Françaises has developed a BIM Viewer that allows simple and easy access to BIM models data for everyone. Assisted with this tool, the architect, the heating engineer and Les Menuiseries Françaises can collaborate directly on the BIM projet model to obtain the information required for heating efficiency reports.

BIM lay-out drawing services for construction

Do you have a construction project? The BIM modelling services developed by Eurocoustic, Isover, Placo® and Plafometal (find out more) determine the layout drawings for materials based on the digital model. The BIM modelling services make also available the document required for the set-up of the projet. By automating the cross-checking of BIM data with manufacturing and assembly rules, these services enable users to view the quantities of the various components to use as part of plans that enable the installation of systems, and to optimise the organisation of the construction site to the maximum extent possible.
