At the heart of our laboratories, more than 3,600 researchers and engineers are designing the construction materials of tomorrow and developing innovative industrial processes. Based across 8 R&D centers and 100 laboratories, they create high-performance, sustainable solutions tailored to our customers’ needs.

Every year, Saint-Gobain’s R&D teams file nearly 400 patents.

DISCOVER 3 ROLES

As an R&D Process Engineer, you organize, lead and analyze industrial trials with the goal of optimizing existing processes and creating new ones.

-

Your day‑to‑day

You drive research and development projects. You test, characterize and run trials on pilot installations in the lab, where you spend around 70% of your time. During the remaining 30%, you provide technical support to plants to help improve their performance.

Is this role made for you?

Are you autonomous and proactive? Do you hold an engineering degree — or even better, a PhD? Are you an expert in chemistry or material science? Do you combine technical expertise with teaching ability and strong interpersonal skills? Let’s meet!

Quality control of raw materials and finished products is your mission. As a laboratory technician, you test and control production at different stages to ensure Saint-Gobain quality. You contribute both to solutions under development and to final products.

-

Your day‑to‑day

You plan and carry out tests and controls to ensure the quality of our raw materials. You prepare quality reports and lab summaries that help teams across the Group propose safer, more competitive products adapted to market needs.

Is this role made for you?

Do you hold a 2‑ or 3‑year technical degree in civil engineering, construction or chemistry? Are you autonomous, rigorous and well‑organized? Are you trained in QHSE procedures, BR electrical clearance and the latest testing and control tools? Let’s meet!

As a Data Scientist, data is your passion. By processing it, you contribute to the Group’s major digital transformation projects. You lead Industry 4.0 initiatives and develop algorithms for our e‑commerce and digital sales platforms.

-

Your day-to-day

You support various Group entities — production, supply chain, marketing and commercial development. You work with teams to understand their needs and provide the data essential to the success and optimization of their projects.

Is this role made for you?

Do you speak Python, R, C++, and English? Do you hold an engineering degree or PhD in mathematics, statistics or physics? Is machine learning and data analysis your thing? Let’s meet!

TAKE PART IN UNIQUE PROJECTS

Projects we are proud of — and that you could contribute to.

A project with no straight lines or right angles, where our teams succeeded in integrating 150,000 m² of ultra‑light plasterboard to optimize construction time.

Shanghai Astonomy Museum

For the Ariane 6 launch pad — subject to extreme mechanical and thermal constraints — Saint‑Gobain developed a custom concrete formulation (admixtures and fibers) for the structure, tunnels and mobile gantry.

In Nijmegen, this pedestrian bridge is the longest bridge ever built using 3D printing. It required more than 120 tons of Weber mortars, produced by Saint-Gobain, and nearly 160 hours to complete this unprecedented structure.

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS? WE’VE GOT ANSWERS!

Yes! Our eight research centers collaborate globally to develop innovative, sustainable solutions. Many projects are carried out in connection with other countries, other expertise and other teams.

A central one. Our teams design materials and solutions that are more environmentally friendly, use fewer resources and address the challenges of the future.

The ability to create something new, test ideas and see their concrete impact on products, uses and the market — a space where science meets real‑world applications.
