Heading to Poland
Discover the eighth stop
on our 360-year world tour!
For the penultimate stage of our anniversary world tour, Saint-Gobain is stopping off in Poland, where the construction sector is undergoing rapid change, driven by new dynamics:
- an urgent need to renovate a large part of the housing stock to better meet new standards of comfort and energy efficiency.
- the rise of local materials, which are increasingly favored by industry players to reduce their carbon footprint and support the national economy.
- environmental certifications such as BREEAM and LEED, which are gradually becoming the norm and redefining the way buildings are designed and lived in on a daily basis.
In this context, one question arises: how can we support these dynamics and accelerate sustainable construction in Poland?
Our ambassador Charlotte Kan takes you to meet our teams and customers on site to discover how Saint-Gobain is taking concrete action in Poland to change practices and accelerate the transition to more sustainable construction.
PROMOTING AND ENCOURAGING SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION IN POLAND IN 360 SECONDS
On site, our teams work daily to ensure that architecture, innovation, and sustainability go hand in hand.
From Warsaw to Krakow, this ambition is reflected in concrete actions: recycling glass and construction materials in increasingly intelligent ways, developing production processes that limit the use of natural resources, and offering solutions that reduce the carbon footprint of buildings.
In other words, building better for more sustainable and comfortable cities.

Poland: Sustainable growth, for all!
Poland was my final stop of our Saint-Gobain 360th anniversary world tour - and what a finale it was! Few places capture the tension between past and future as vividly as this country: a land marked by history, resilience, and reinvention, where every street corner seems to carry memory yet every skyline points forward.
Here, construction is one of the most dynamic sectors in Europe. Cranes dot Warsaw’s horizon, new business districts rise, and the country’s appetite for progress is palpable. But beyond growth, a deeper question drives the conversation: how can Poland build more sustainably, wisely, and for the long term?
From the glass façades of Varso Tower - the tallest building in the EU and home to Saint-Gobain Poland - to the RECOBUD recycling initiative in Dąbrowa Górnicza and the low-carbon furnaces of the ISOVER plant in Gliwice, I witnessed a country in motion. Change is already happening: cleaner materials, better insulation, smarter renovation, stronger collaboration. Sustainability is no longer seen as a cost, but as value - for comfort, efficiency, and future generations.
Each expert I met - Henryk, Cezary, Aleksandra, Michał - shared the same conviction: that building responsibly is not just about compliance, it’s foremost about people.
And for me, personally, closing this chapter in Poland felt symbolic. After months of filming, waltzing through cities, donning hard hats, and meeting key stakeholders from Brazil to Australia, India to Poland, I’ve seen how local actions can shape a global movement. I am immensely grateful for the experience.
WARSAW LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE!
In the heart of Warsaw, the silhouette of the Varso Tower redefines the capital's skyline. At 310 meters and 53 stories high, it is not only the tallest skyscraper in the European Union, but also a manifesto of innovation and sustainability. Certified BREEAM “Excellent” and WELL Building Standard, the tower features a panoramic terrace offering breathtaking views of Warsaw.
Saint-Gobain contributed to the construction of this iconic building and the adjoining office complexes with a wide range of integrated solutions:
- Chryso solutions and GCP sealing systems ensure the strength, durability, and protection of structures.
- Saint-Gobain Glass high-performance glazing and Swisspacer warm edge spacer bars enhance the buildings’ energy efficiency.
- Rigips, Vetrotech and Glassolutions plasterboard and interior glass partitions provide soundproofing for the open space while meeting fire safety requirements.
- The combination of Isover insulation and Ecophon ceilings guarantees thermal comfort and optimal acoustic quality throughout the 70,000 m² of space.
- The interior walls and floors are covered with Weber decorative finishes, adding aesthetic appeal and everyday comfort - because every detail counts.
On the 28th floor of the Varso Tower, Saint-Gobain Poland's headquarters embodies this vision: an open-sky showroom where each material showcases the Group's expertise.
