New HQ for the Argentine Paralympic Committee
The Argentine Paralympic Committee is to open La Casa del Deporte Paralimpico, its first official headquarters. This project, symbolizing collaboration and the sharing of Paralympic values, has been supported by numerous donations from Saint-Gobain Argentina. It marks a key step in the growth of adapted sports in the country.
The Argentine Paralympic Committee (COPAR) – which specializes in the organization and promotion of adapted sports for people with physical, intellectual, motor, or sensory disability – will soon reach a historic milestone with the inauguration of La Casa del Deporte Paralimpico, its first official headquarters. This crucial step was made possible by the Argentine government, which made the building available in the federal capital, and by the Group’s donations for its renovation.
As part of its Huella CSR program, Saint-Gobain Argentina donated several renovation and accessibility solutions that were essential to the successful completion of the project. These included Placo® acoustic plasterboard for the ceiling along with numerous Weber solutions.
Work started in January 2024 to transform the building into a functional and welcoming space by August 2024. COPAR, which until now has operated out of a sports complex dedicated to training Argentina’s top athletes, will have its own premises, dedicated to administrative management, training and conferences.
This project symbolizes a major step forward for the Paralympic movement in Argentina, and reflects the shared values of courage, determination, inspiration and fairness.
