Protecting soil against pollution

To protect the environment from the micropollutants associated with runoff, PUM has developed a geotextile that can be adapted to all types of car park. AQUA’PUM filters hydrocarbons, protects the soil and supports sustainable urban planning.

Given that water is a rare and fragile natural resource, mass urban development exacerbates soil contamination by micropollutants found in the rainwater that runs off impermeable surfaces. This is why PUM has developed AQUA’PUM, a solution that decontaminates runoff when it infiltrates the soil.

Dedicated to permeable parking spaces, the AQUA’PUM geotextile will satisfy the needs of Public Works and landscapers to both stabilize the soil and treat rainwater as close as possible to its point of contact. This solution, which only activates in the presence of hydrocarbons, has a service life of at least 50 years, requires no maintenance or change in procedure, and is compatible with all car park configurations.

AQUA’PUM is available in two sizes (2.8m x 100m and 5.6m x 100m) in PUM branches and on myMPUM.fr. It helps to protect the environment and biodiversity, in keeping with the soil “de-waterproofing” solutions already available from PUM, like the GeoClean® aquatextile, developed in partnership with TenCate.
