Chryso takes urban mobility to new heights in the Paris region

The first urban cable car in the Île-de-France region, Câble C1 connects four municipalities over 4.5 kilometers with five HQE-certified stations. A sustainable infrastructure project in which Chryso solutions helped to meet the technical and esthetic requirements.

Launched on December 13, 2025, Câble C1 is reshaping urban mobility in the Paris (France) region1. The first urban cable car system in the Île-de-France region, it connects four municipalities in Val-de-Marne over a distance of 4.5 kilometers and is transforming the daily lives of thousands of residents. The five accessible stations, certified for their high environmental quality (HQE), blend seamlessly into the urban landscape. The infrastructure was designed to be sustainable from the outset, and Chryso solutions had an essential role to play.

For the concrete framework, the challenge was considerable: the complex shapes of the stations required a material that was easy to pour, even in areas that were difficult to access, while remaining workable long enough to adapt to the constraints of the construction site, and robust enough once hardened to guarantee the structure’s durability. 2,500 m3 of superplasticizers from the Chryso® Optima range were used to obtain a fluid, uniform concrete that was easy to work with. This ensured that it remained workable over time without compromising mechanical performance, right from day one.

Esthetics were also a major consideration. Visible to all, a cable car must permanently blend into the landscape. Pieri® Color PM 1000 Galet pigment has given the stations a stable and consistent color, while offering excellent UV resistance. The concrete surfaces thus retain their original appearance, without discoloration or weathering.

Beyond its products, Chryso’s technical support was also a decisive factor. Throughout the project, the teams optimized the concrete formulations based on site conditions and the architectural ambitions of Câble C1.
