Industrial synergy in India
Gyproc in India and Saint-Gobain Formula have joined forces to open the country’s first production plant for industrial and construction plasters. A strategic collaboration that paves the way for new opportunities for the Group in both local and international markets.
In Jhagadia, in the state of Gujarat, Gyproc has teamed up with Formula – a supplier of industrial plaster and gypsum-based solutions – to create the new Group’s plaster production site in India. The facility complements Saint-Gobain’s existing business portfolio in this fast-growing region.
The plant will produce industrial plasters – modified to meet the technical requirements of foundries and the ceramics industry, for example – marketed under the Formula brand, along with Gyproc construction plasters. In particular, the Jhagadia site will play a leading role in the ceramics industry, offering solutions to meet growing demand for high-performance materials both locally and internationally.
“This impressive project, led by Formula and Gyproc, is a testament to their strong collaboration and long-term vision for growth in India,” according to Patrick Dupin, Senior Vice-President, CEO Northern Europe Region, writing on LinkedIn. “This is a great example of how local expertise, combined with global know-how, drives impact and innovation!"
The new unit also opens up real export opportunities for Saint-Gobain, positioning India as an essential link in the Group’s global supply chain. This strategy echoes the government’s “Make in India” initiative, which promotes high-performance, competitive local production with the aim of making India a major international industrial hub.
