A more sustainable offer in Indonesia

In Indonesia, the Group has launched FutuRE, a program to raise the profile of the most sustainable solutions offered by six Group brands. From mortars incorporating 30% recycled materials to insulation systems with a low carbon footprint to recycling services, FutuRE guides private customers and professionals towards more responsible choices for their construction projects.

In a construction sector in the midst of change, Indonesia is seeking to transform its practices to reduce its environmental impact and meet the growing demand from professionals and private customers to make more responsible choices for their projects. In November 2024, Saint-Gobain thus launched the FutuRE range to meet the country’s current challenges: reducing construction waste, optimizing resources and improving energy efficiency.

Led by six flagship brands – Isover, Gyproc, Weber, Ecophon, Mortar Utama and ADFORS – this initiative increases the visibility of the Group’s sustainable offers. With its distinctive visual identity, the FutuRE logo enables customers to instantly identify sustainable solutions in the Saint-Gobain catalog.

Aire, a Mortar Utama solution, is a perfect illustration of this approach. The first range of mortars in Indonesia to incorporate more than 30% recycled material, it offers 50% greater coverage than standard products. FutuRE also includes innovative services, such as the DAUR-MU recycling program, which has already facilitated the collection of 15 t of Mortar Utama packaging waste, which is then used to manufacture tools. This initiative has led to the creation of around fifty jobs.

The solutions and services that make up this offer are selected according to a rigorous charter. In addition to meeting the “Better for Planet” and “Better for People” commitments that define sustainable construction at Saint-Gobain, solutions with the FutuRE logo must also:

  • Have environmental certification or an environmental product declaration (EPD) verified by a third party;
  • Pass a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions test for products intended for indoor use;
  • Have ISO 14001 certification;
  • Provide a recycled content declaration;
  • And present other standard documents such as Technical Data Sheets (TDS) or Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

The launch of FutuRE in Indonesia is part of Saint-Gobain’s ambitious global strategy, already successfully deployed under various banners: “Les Engagés” in France, “FutuRE” in Spain and “Agire Sostenibile” in Italy. The program continues to expand, with launches scheduled for South Africa and several Latin American countries (Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil).
