A positive energy push for Rwanda
AMEX has delivered materials to a micro-hydroelectric plant project led by LED Energy and supported by the UN and African Development Bank.

Located in Musanze province, a micro-hydroelectric plant with a generating capacity of 400 megawatts has been installed to supply power to a previously isolated rural community.
This project is part of a vast transformation program introduced by the Rwandan government, which is highly committed to green growth. The expertise of Saint-Gobain's teams and their ability to provide tailored solutions meant that the client opted for PAM ductile iron solutions as they are able to withstand the hydraulic pressure exerted to drive the turbines. The ease of installation was another determining factor.
This project is unique too in that it comes under the banner of Women Empowerment. Led by a team made up almost entirely of women, the project is also helping develop the technical skills of the region's women.
