Abu Dhabi: Saint-Gobain on the starting blocks

Saint-Gobain has been selected to equip Yas Bay Arena, a first-of-its-kind, multi-purpose, indoor venue developed by Miral as part of the Yas Bay development on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Designed by the architectural firm of Pascal+Watson, this striking modular landmark for entertainment is certified by ESTIDAMA and will host large-scale and private events, such as sporting and cultural performances. Yas Bay Arena will provide flexible capacity from 500 people to around 18,000 people, and is set to become one of the region’s most exciting and versatile venues, further underlining Yas Island’s reputation as leading global destination for world-class entertainment.

Saint-Gobain Gyproc will supply more than 280,000 m2 of plasterboard, including 80,000 m2 of Habito plasterboard for its impact resistance and its ability to support heavy loads, such as screens. Glass wool insulation from KIMMCO ISOVER was also chosen for this structure.
