A new perspective on Manhattan

Not quite a tower nor a suspended garden, this glass monument provides a new vision of urban architecture and an unprecedented view over the city.

The British architect Thomas Heatherwick dreamt up The Vessel as part of the redevelopment of the Hudson Yards. This strange spiral staircase with its 2,465 steps serves 80 landings up to the 16th level.

It was created to provide a new public landmark in the entirely refurbished Hudson Gardens, as well as a new view over New York.

Saint-Gobain is proud to be associated with the construction of this unique project including 9,000 m2 of Diamant glass manufactured in Romania.
