CONTRIBUTING TO A DECARBONIZED WORLD

Construction accounts for 37% of global CO₂ emissions. As a leader in sustainable construction, we have a responsibility to act on the climate challenge. Our commitment is built on two clear priorities:

• maximizing our contribution by offering customers high‑performance, sustainable solutions that reduce their emissions
• minimizing our footprint across the entire value chain, with one goal: net‑zero emissions by 2050 (Scopes 1, 2 and 3)

Canada: the largest zero‑carbon plasterboard plant

In Sainte‑Catherine, our subsidiary CertainTeed opened a plasterboard plant powered 100% by hydroelectricity. The result: around 44,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided each year, and a new benchmark for low‑carbon manufacturing.

IMPROVING OUR ECOSYSTEM’S FOOTPRINT

Our objective: optimize natural resource consumption and promote circularity.
In concrete terms: we design durable materials, reuse and recycle raw materials, develop more resource‑efficient packaging, and optimize logistics flows. The result is more responsible, efficient production — and everyone can contribute, from the field to the office.

–50% water withdrawn by 2030

We aim to cut water withdrawals in half by 2030, prioritizing areas under water stress.
Across our industrial sites, we develop recycling and reuse systems. Cooling water, for instance, is reused, limiting withdrawals and discharge.
